A goal from George Carter-Knight and an Iain Seabrook penalty saw Shanklin beat Portsmouth side Meon Milton in the Hants Trophy semi-final.
Saturday’s game – played at Eastney Barracks in Portsmouth – started badly for Shanklin as centre forward Kyle Drew had to pull out of the squad an hour before kick-off due to illness.
Shanklin started the game well and started to create chances with the wind behind them. Mid-way through 1st half, the energetic Nicky Vyse crossed for George Carter Knight to place the ball in the back of the Meon Milton net (0-1).
Shanklin had a great start to the 2nd half when Nicky Vyse went through again only for the Meon Milton goalkeeper to bring him down, resulting in a penalty for Shanklin and a sending off for the goalkeeper. Shanklin stalwart Iain Seabrook converted the penalty (0-2).

After the game, Shanklin manager Paul Haward said:
“I’m absolutely delighted for the lads and the club to be back in the Hampshire cup final. To reach the final twice in successive years is a great achievement. Let’s hope we can go one better this year and win it.”
