Niton Community 0-5 Shanklin
2nd-placed Shanklin cut W&B’s lead at the top of Division 1 by trouncing bottom-of-the-table Niton at Nine Acres. Whitecroft & Barton were without a fixture on Saturday and need 5 points from their remaining 3 games to secure a further championship. The scorers for Shanklin were George Carter-Knight, Jordan Cook, Nick Vyse, Kyle Drew and Pete Wilson.
Northwood St Johns 1-2 Brading Town
6th-placed Brading Town overcame 5th-placed Northwood St Johns at the Isle of Wight Community Club courtesy of goals from Aaron Bennett and Dan Vale.
Oakfield 2-0 Vectis
Oakfield climbed 3 places to 8th thanks by beating Vectis at Slade Road thanks to goals from Mitch Walker and Steve Gee. Vectis have now completed all their league fixtures and end the season with 24 points from 24 games.
West Wight 0-2 Bembridge
4th-placed Bembridge overcame 10th-placed West Wight at Camp Road courtesy of goals from Ryan James and Ant Kettell.
In Isle of Wight Division 2 …
Leaders Pan were awarded a walkover victory against Ventnor, who were unable to raise a side; 2nd-placed East Cowes Sports drew 3-3 away to Wootton; 3rd-placed Adgestone won 2-0 at home to Carisbrooke United.
In Combination 2 …
The league season has ended in Combination 2, with all 8 sides having completed their 14 fixtures. Congratulations to champions East Cowes Sports Reserves and runners up Vectis Reserves, who have both been promoted to Combination 1.
On Thursday, 21st April, Bembridge ‘A’ face East Cowes Sports Reserves in the final of the Juinior ‘B’ Cup at Beatrice Avenue. Kick-off is at 19:30.
