Sean Williams has won the final event in the Wight Tri Winter Duathlon Series: the Chillerton Crucifier Duathlon.
The Chillerton Crucifier is a run-bike-run format consisting of a 2.4km or 5.9km run, followed by one or two laps of a 14km bike course, then followed by a second run.
Fastest overall on the long course was Sean Williams, who completed it in 1:41:28 with Kaitlin Wilson (58:33) taking the short course honours. Closest to their nominated time, which the series is awarded over, was Craig Wilson (12 seconds out) followed by Steve Dines (39 seconds) and Paul Webb (40 seconds).
This event also had several new members taking part in their first Duathlon, including special performances from Blue Pike, Nadia Lele, Thomas Savasta, Ben Jayson and Hannah Bryan.
As this was the last event of the series, the overall series on a best 4 from 6 basis was jointly won by Craig Wilson and Arielle Elton-Walters with a cumulated finishing total of 13 points. 2nd was Sean Williams (16), with Kaitlin Wilson and Kevin Winchcombe (26) in 3rd.
Altogether 47 competitors took part in the 2021/22 Wight Tri Winter Duathlon Series with several new members taking on their first ever Duathlon.
April 10th sees the Wight Tri Spring Triathlon from Gurnard Pines and a summer Aqua series, swim/run and swim/bike will be held open to all under the GoTri banner.
