Wightlink-sponsored Ryde Rowing Club reached multiple finals across senior, novice and junior events at Woolston Regatta on Saturday (1st August).
The annual regatta, hosted by Southampton Rowing Club at Weston Shore in Woolston, saw Ryde crews compete across a range of sweep rowing and sculling events.
Ryde’s Women’s Senior Four of Eve Gordon, Stella Baisley, Alexis Owen and Demi Cranham Ede, coxed by Ruby Read, finished 4th in their final.
In the Women’s Novice Fours, Ryde rowers Demi Cranham Ede and Polly Townson combined with one member each from Southampton Rowing Club and Coalporters Rowing Club to form a composite crew. Coxed by Ryde’s Mai Read, they also finished 4th in the final.
The club’s Mixed Four of Isaac Gibson, Max Locke, Polly Townson and Eva Gordon, with Harry Watts as cox, secured 5th place in their final.

Ryde was also represented in the Open Senior Pairs, where Paddy Kearney and Charlie Watts finished 4th in the final.
In the Open Novice Sculls, both Ryde competitors progressed to the final after qualifying from their heats. Charlie Watts finished 2nd in his heat before placing 5th in the final, while Isaac Gibson was 3rd in both his heat and the final.
Max Locke competed in the Boys’ J16 Sculls, finishing 5th in the final.
Ryde’s Women’s Novice Scullers also impressed, with Alexis Owen taking 3rd place in the final and Stella Baisley finishing 4th.
Locke also raced as part of a composite Novice Four alongside rowers from Poole and Newport, with the crew finishing 5th in the final.
