Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are set to recruit new wholetime firefighters in September.
It was initially planned to open up applications in July, but the decision has been taken to extend the recruitment process to give every prospective candidate as much support as possible.
Now that lockdown measures are being eased the fire service will be holding a number of different events – both virtual and on station – to ensure all candidates are fully prepared and confident when they apply.
Events will include comprehensive application and interview advice, further Q&A sessions and detailed fitness guidance.
The date for the opening of the application portal is yet to be confirmed but it is anticipated that applications will open in mid-September, giving everyone approximately 8 weeks to prepare themselves and put their best possible self forward.
