Staff and customers at the Folly Inn in Whippingham are facing chilly heads as they bravely face having their hair shaved off for charity today (Good Friday).
In aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, members of the pub team will be having their head shaved in full view of everyone outside the picturesque riverside pub tomorrow.
Manager of the Old English Inn, Cheryl Greenwood said:
“We have all been affected by cancer in some way or some time, so the team wanted to do something a bit different to raise money for Macmillan. I am very proud of all my team who have volunteered for the big cut and hope to see many faces new and old with us over the Easter weekend showing their support.”
“Some of our customers are also planning on joining us, which is fantastic and we would love to see even more people take part on the day.”
All head shaving participants are being sponsored for their efforts and the Folly is collecting donations.
Rachel Gascoigne, partnership account manager at Macmillan, said:
“It’s great to see staff at the Folly throwing themselves into their fundraising for Macmillan. It’s events like these that really add up and make a difference to people affected by cancer.”
