A tradesman has been left without vital tools following a theft from his van in East Cowes on Friday night.
The incident took place on Princess Close sometime overnight between Friday evening and Saturday morning.
Persons unknown smashed their way into the Ford Transit crew cab tipper before taking a number of items.
Item stolen include a Stihl Cut-Off Petrol Saw, a Hitachi Hammer Drill, a Stihl pressurised water container and 2 Hitachi cordless power drills.

Yet another vile criminal act. Who are these irresponsible and anti social people who think they can take what they want without any thought for others.
This guy has to rely on his tools for his livelihood. They also damaged his van. He now has to sort out the mess and pick up the bill.
I urge anyone who knows who did it to call the police .
They are not worth protecting, they need to take responsibility for what they have done and give this guy his tools back and pay for repairs to the van. Doubt they have the backbone to own up.

Sadly when Pennyfeathers is fully stocked with the rejects from other mainland councils by paying our greedy council to house them, this will become common place.
Those smug in Bembridge and Seaview, who have thus far avoided much crime and anti social behaviour will find their lives affected as the crime will spread outwards to such quiet areas ripe for stealing.
Still for most, the two weeks a year they spend here, and their insurance will cover the losses not like this poor working guy.
The Governments policies to pay more cash to breed has badly backfired as it encourages the wrong sort, those who shouldn’t own a pet, let alone a child to keep having such, adding to the vile clone pool, hence life for every generation grows ever more dire.
He who nicks a honest workmans tools should lose their own tool.
