An Island postman has been spared jail after stealing thousands of letters over a near three year period.
Former Royal Mail employee Sam Ross of Wootton admitted his guilt at the Isle of Wight Crown Court to having stolen over 2500 letters plus a further 1900 items of junk mail.
Nearly 300 parcels were found by Police at Mr Ross’ home address.
Ross was sentenced to 7 months in prison, suspended for two years with 300 hours of community service and a 6 month curfew.
