Officers from Hampshire Constabulary are today continuing their appeal for information to hunt down a man who snatched a handbag from an innocent woman in Ryde.
The incident happened in Church Lane, Ryde last Friday between 18:20 and 18:30 when the unknown suspect cycled up behind the woman before snatching her handbag and cycling off through an alley way and down Union Street.
The handbag is described as being black leather with a textured crocodile finish, double handled and made by Osprey. It contained a small turquoise Filofax, a long leaf green purse with various bank cards and an old style Motorola mobile phone.
Witnesses are asked to come forward with any information regarding the suspect, who is described as IC1 (White), male in his late teens or early 20s with bad skin and of slim build. He had short, dark hair and was wearing a long sleeve grey top and black tracksuit bottoms.
