PATROLS STEPPED UP AFTER SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY


yarmouthpolicestationLocals in the West Wight are being urged to remain vigilant after two people have been seen to hang around ATM machines in the area.

Police are stepping up patrols in Freshwater following a number of reports that the two unknown persons, one male and one female, have been hanging around near to cash machines, raising suspicion that they could be trying to steal PIN numbers.

It is also reported that elderly residents have been approached and asked if they need assistance with their shopping.

The female is described as aged in her 40s, around 5ft 2″ tall with greying hair and wearing a hat. The male meanwhile is said to be 40, 5ft 8″ tall and complained about having sore legs.

Anyone who spots suspicious activity or has any information relating to these incidents is asked to call Police on 101. In an emergency, dial 999.
