Pan Community beat Adgestone 3-1 at Downside to reach the Junior ‘A’ cup final on Saturday afternoon (19th March).
Pan are battling for an historic treble of trophies: the Hampshire Vase, the Isle of Wight Junior ‘A’ Cup and the 2nd Division Championship.
Pan started the game on the front foot, taking the lead after 8 minutes with an Ashley Gulliver goal (1-0). The home side then doubled their lead on 26 minutes through a Sam Williams header (2-0). Pan kept up the pressure, with Pan man-of-the-match Mark Taylor netting the 3rd 5 minutes from half time (3-0).

In the 2nd half, Pan were defending against a strong wind but kept Adgestone at bay until 8 minutes from full time time when the away side were awarded a controversial penalty by referee Steve Raybould (3-1). The game ended with further controversy with Pan’s Sam Williams sent off for abusive language, followed by Adgestone’s Alex Jacenko for violent conduct.

After the game, Pan Assistant manager John Sivier said:
“At the start of the season, myself and manager Steve Case aimed to push for promotion, have a good run in the Hants cup and reach the Junior A final. The boys have done us proud. We have a special team here.”
Pan will face either Northwood Reserves or East Cowes Sports in the final of the competition.

The Green Army have now gone 9 games unbeaten after knocking 3 goals past Northwood at Cowes Community Club. The scorers for Binstead were Jacob Morley, Leon Obeyesekere and Ashley Smith. Binstead’s win sees them overtake Northwood to take 4th place in the Division 1 table on goal difference
Ryde Saints 1-1 Bembridge
2nd-from-bottom Ryde Saints held 3rd-placed Bembridge to a draw at Smallbrook. After a goalless 1st half followed by a missed penalty for Bembridge, Saints took the lead through Ollie Sweatman in the 65th minute. Ben Field then equalized for Bembridge.
Sandown & Lake 0-6 Shanklin
In the Bay Derby at the Fairway Sports complex, 2nd-placed Shanklin knocked 6 past Sandown. The scorers for Shanklin were Iain Seabrook, George Carter-Knight (2), Cory Sanderson, Brad Young, and an own goal. Shanklin’s win leaves them 10 points behind leaders Whitecroft & Barton with a game in hand on the champions.
Vectis 1-0 Oakfield
Vectis beat Oakfield at Cowes Enterprise College with a single goal from Jake Symes. Vectis’ win sees them climb to 9th place in the Division 1 table with 21 ponts from 21 games. Oakfield remain 3rd-from-bottom with 16 points from 14 games.
On Tuesday (22nd March) Oakfield play Newport at Smallbrook in the Quarter Final of the Isle of Wight Gold Cup
