A driver who was seen to be overtaking cars through Arreton ended up with more than just a ticket when Police discovered a haul of cannabis in the vehicle.
PC Martin, a dog handler from the Joint Operations Unit, clocked a car travelling at speed through Arreton prompting the blue lights to be switched on and the driver pulled.
It didn’t take long for a smell of cannabis to become evident, which led to a search of the vehicle.
A quantity of cannabis was found in the vehicle, which has led to the driver being interviewed under caution.
Police are asking Islanders to drive responsibly and are reminding everybody that cannabis is illegal, addictive and detrimental to your health.

The only reason cannabis is a gateway drug is because the sale of it is usually in the hands of drug dealers who then push harder and more deadly drugs if cannabis was legal and you could go down the street and buy it from a shop then we wouldn’t be having that problem

Drug is a drug. Prison sentence should be mandatory. Paying tax on their earnings? Money laundering? Drug dealers are scum and there needs to be more done about it.
1. No one has ever died from cannabis the only way it can kill you is if 200lb of it is thrown from a plane and it happens to land on you.

You are talking nonsense! It is addictive it also in many situations leads to experimentation of harder Class A drugs.
So everybody who smokes weed goes on to do harder drugs????? People who smoke cigarettes and drink booze are just as likely and I’d argue even more likely to go on to Class As.
