ffjhospitalAn open day held at the former Frank James Hospital in East Cowes yesterday (Sunday) has been hailed a success by The Friends of Frank James.

A number of activities took place, including Fat Samba, an Eco-Art workshop and the planting of a pear tree in the grounds alongside a wonderful picture display and of course a birthday cake in celebration of the former hospital.

Around 60 people attended the event including the Island’s MP Andrew Turner and his partner Carole Dennett and Independent Councillor Vanessa Churchman.

Ian Boyd of Natural Enterprise organised a Bug Hunt for children which proved very popular.

Many of the people who came hadn’t been to the grounds before or they hadn’t been there since the Hospital had closed. The people who had stayed in the Hospital had lovely stories to tell about its nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
