A one-way system will be introduced in Gurnard from the start of September for a total period of 8 weeks.
Utility works in the area mean that motorists will face a number of restrictions in and around Gurnard, near Cowes until 30th October.
From 08:00 next Tuesday (1st September), a one-way restriction will be introduced along Cockleton Lane, from its junctions with Pallance Road to its junction with Hilton Road, and Shore Road, from its junction with Solent View Road to its junction with Woodvale Road.
As well as a restriction in the direction of travel, a number of roads will be completely closed in the area. No vehicles will be permitted to travel along Church Road, between its junctions with Worsley Road and a point 65metres west, nor along Worsley Road, between its junction with Church Road and The Avenue. A closure will also be in place on Hilton Road, between its junctions with Tuttons Hill and a point 60 metres south, as well as Tuttons Hill, between its junction with Hilton Road and 30 metres east.
Large vehicles over 6ft 6in wide will, for the duration of the works only, be permitted to travel along Worsley Road, between its junctions with Solent View Road and Shore Road and Shore Road, between its junction with Worsley Road and Woodvale Road. Large vehicles will also be allowed to drive along Woodvale Road, between its junctions with Shore Road and Baring Road.
