newportrafficsnowRoadworks which have blighted Newport over the past couple of weeks are set to end two days earlier than planned.

The one-way restrictions currently in place on Fairlee Road, Staplers Road, Halberry Lane and Cross Lane will be removed on Tuesday next week unless work progresses well, in which case they will be removed on the evening of Monday.

Traffic has been building up on a daily basis from all directions as motorists try to find the best route to travel into Newport town center.

The gas works are not over yet though – Temporary traffic lights will be in place outside Broadlands House until Thursday next week followed by temporary traffic lights between School lane and Mayfield Drive from  2nd April until 3rd May.
