Wightlink is giving customers the opportunity to change its timetable on Friday evenings.
People are being asked to vote on which one of two proposed late sailings from Portsmouth to Fishbourne they would prefer to travel on. The most popular choice will then become part of the timetable for the rest of the year, although no new sailings are being added.
At present, all Friday evening sailings leave Portsmouth at 20:00, 21:00 and 23.59, returning from Fishbourne at 21:00, 22:00 and 01:00. The alternative choice is 20:00, 22:00 and 23.59 from Portsmouth, returning from Fishbourne at 21:00, 23:00 and 01:00.
Chief Executive Officer Russell Kew explains:
“Questions about providing later sailings were raised by customers at our recent Meet the Managers events.
“We understand that Islanders might want to return home later on Friday nights and mainlanders heading to the Island on holiday may also prefer a later sailing. We want everyone who travels with us to tell us what they want, I urge all our customers to take part in the poll.”
The online survey can be found at www.wightlink.co.uk/survey
The poll opens today and will close on 1st March. Wightlink will then announce the results and the new timetable will come into operation as soon as possible.
