The front counter at Newport Police Station will be closed for 2 days next week to allow for some essential maintenance.
On Tuesday 25th August and Wednesday 26th August, the doors will be shut to the county town’s Police Station. However, as a temporary alternative, Ryde Police Station’s front counter will be opened on both of these days.
The address for Ryde station is 31 Station Street, Ryde, PO33 2QH. The counter will be open from 09:00-18:00.
No found property will be accepted at Ryde.
Outside of the opening hours above, members of the public are encouraged to report non-emergencies to Police on 101 or via the online ‘Report’ tool at https://www.hampshire.police.uk/.
Always call 999 in the event of an emergency.
Disgusting in such crime ridden days as now. What a poor service we now get for our council tax money. With ever more homes being built and paying in, we should have better services NOT worse ones.
Someone is spending it very badly imo.
As if years ago far less houses kept libraries, toilets, more police, dustmen every week, free tip access, verges all cut every week, footpaths cut and neat, etc etc, just WHAT has changed NOW to make ever higher council tax necessary, yet with countless more homes here, AND an ever worsening service?
Can anyone HONESTLY answer???
Agree with what your saying regarding all the other services but the Police Station in Newport is closing just for 2 days for MAINTENANCE work to be completed. Probably installing a higher front desk with protective shielding around it!!!!!
