Over the next two weeks the Island’s MP, Andrew Turner, will be visiting many Island towns and villages carrying out his mobile Summer Surgery.
The programme gives Island people the opportunity to talk to their MP about any concerns or issues they might have, without having to make an appointment or a special journey to Newport.
Mr Turner said:
“The Summer recess from Parliament gives me the perfect opportunity to get out and about in the community, something I really enjoy doing. I get the chance to talk to lots of people about a variety of topics. You don’t have to make an appointment, just turn up to see me wherever is most convenient for you. I get to meet people who want me to help them with serious issues as well as those don’t really have a problem but just want a chat. That’s perfectly fine, as it’s really important for me, as the Island’s MP, to find out what Islanders are thinking.
“During the course of the year I try to give people different opportunities to talk to me; I hold my weekly surgery at my office in Newport, supermarket surgeries across the Island and I knock on doors on many Saturday mornings – but the Summer Surgery remains popular with many people.”
The Summer Surgery programme is included below. Mr Turner will once again have a stand at the Garlic Festival on the 16th and 17th August.
Mr Turner’s Summer Surgery is once again this year supported by Premier Ford of Newport, who will be lending him a suitable vehicle for his mobile surgery, both to provide privacy and in case of inclement weather.
