An emergency closure is being put in place on the main road between Yarmouth and Freshwater this morning (Tuesday).
Hallets Shute will be closed between its junction with Westhill Lane to its junction with Bridge Road to allow emergency gas repairs to take place.
Diversions will be signposted locally but motorists heading between the 2 towns along with bus users should expect a level of disruption.
The closure will last for 5 days, or until the work is complete – whichever comes sooner.
