Senior managers at Wightlink met holidaymakers from all over the world and local residents at their latest Meet the Managers event on Ryde Pier on Thursday.
Travellers from Norway, Russia, Canada and Colombia who had used Wightlink’s Portsmouth-Ryde catamarans to reach the Island said they had enjoyed themselves and would be encouraging their friends to visit the Isle of Wight.
Regular commuters and other passengers made several suggestions relating to multilink tickets and other aspects of the ferry company’s operations but many of those who chatted to Wightlink staff said they were happy with the its services and appreciated the chance to meet and talk with managers over a glass of Pimms.
Wightlink’s Chief Executive, Russell Kew said:
“Over the last year we have met hundreds of customers from both sides of the Solent at our regular consultation events.
“Some have raised issues, some have praised our services and complimented our crew but it has always been valuable to hear directly from the people who travel with us. Many have made useful suggestions to improve how we run our business.”
The next round of consultation events will start in October 2014.
