
Festival organisers have confirmed that Julian Clary will headline the Wight Proms comedy night – Wight Laugh – on Friday 19th August.
Wight Proms have also announced that RuPaul Drag Race stars Ella Vaday, Kitty Scott-Claus and Choriza May – will be making superstar appearances at Isle of Pride on the Wednesday (17th August).
Wight Proms 2022 will extend to a whole week to celebrate its 5th anniversary in this Platinum Jubilee year. The 6-day festival will take place on 16th-21st August 2022 in the grounds of Northwood House in Cowes, celebrating comedy, drag, opera, musical theatre, and, of course, the Last Wight of the Proms.
The climax of the festival – The Last Wight of the Proms – will mark the island debut for multi-platinum selling X-Factor stars G4, who will headline this year’s event, accompanied by the Wight Proms Concert Orchestra for a rousing celebration of British music and flag-waving, including Pomp & Circumstance on Sunday 21st August.

Tuesday 16th August: The multi award-winning and hugely popular children’s TV show Horrible Histories will be live on stage; it’s time to prepare your nippers for the Terrible Tudors heading to Cowes!
Wednesday 17th August: Join drag queens from RuPaul Drag Race UK, Ella Vaday, Kitty Scott-Claus, and Choriza May as they sashay into Cowes with their huge personalities, comedy chaos, and jaw-dropping vocals.
Thursday 18th August: The Isle of Opera gala will showcase some of the best-loved opera arias, transporting you to the world of Verdi, Puccini, Mozart and many more, featuring sensational singers from the Royal Opera House, Opera Holland Park, and Glyndebourne. Hosted by broadcaster and Scala Radio presenter Penny Smith.
Friday 19th August: Wight Proms annual comedy night – Wight Laugh – this year starring comedy legend Julian Clary. Plus, live music from the island’s very own The Rockafellas.
Saturday 20th August: Wight at the Musicals brings you some of the best-known and popular songs from the world of musical theatre, starring G4-Frontman Jonathan Ansell and Britain’s Got Talent Winner Jai McDowall, plus support from Theatretrain.
