jobcentresignThe number of people claiming the unemployment benefit Jobseekers Allowance fell in September, it has been revealed.

2687 people claimed the benefit last month compared to 2720 in August – a fall of 33. Year on year, it is a fall of 307 Island residents.

As the summer season comes to an end, the number of claimants is expected to rise during October, figures for which will be released next month.
