Jay Miller’s Circus won’t be coming to the Isle of Wight this Summer but could return in the Autumn, it has been announced.
The circus’ annual summer tour has been called off as a result of COVID-19.
Peppi the clown and the whole Miller family have been visiting the Isle of Wight for years. The Big Top is usually erected at Whippingham from July until September and has become a regular summer attraction for both visitors and locals alike.
Although there will be no summer tour, it is hoped that the circus will be able to conduct an Autumn tour instead – although it is unclear if this will include a visit to the Isle of Wight.
In a statement issued yesterday (Wednesday), Jay Miller’s Circus has said:
“Although we are now able to open within the current Government guidelines & restrictions, we have decided that, with a heavy heart, we will be postponing our touring events for this Summer.
“With these changes understandably comes many new rules & regulations, of which we are now working through & with the uncertainty of any possible sudden closure again, financially would be unthinkable.
“With this being a worldwide pandemic our international cast and crew we had booked for our 2020 season, are unable to leave their countries due to travel visa restrictions”.

See you next year peppi
