All-Elite Wrestling stars – from Florida – fought English wrestling talent with mixed results at Newport nightclub Fever this Thursday (24th March).
In the 1st contest Blanco Loco – otherwise known as the Sultan of the Sky – failed in his attempt to steal the CXW (Championship of Extreme Wrestling) from the current holder and head of the Outcast Wrestling School, Islander Jackson Arrow.
After the bout, Jackson boasted:
“Once again, I defended the CXW Heavyweight Championship against one of the very best high-flyers in the world. They call him The Sultan of the Sky for a reason! After another big win, it’s clear now that I am making a name for myself as one of the best professional wrestlers in the UK. You people are all witnessing greatness! You are welcome!”
In the 2nd bout, the Isle of Wight’s Luna Trix retained her title against a superstar of American wrestling – Dream Girl Ellie – to remain the Outcast Women’s Champion.
Luna says:
“Retaliation was an amazing show throughout. What an honour to work with a great talent from the USA, lovely people, amazing wrestlers, and a fantastic crowd, and I’m still OPW Woman’s champ!”
Axton Ray – the 3rd American All-Elite wrestler to fly over to the UK for their British tour – beat Mr KFC himself, Portsmouth-based Victor Logan, in an entertaining contest. For once, the show was not all about Victor.
After the contest, Victor said:
“Getting in the ring with Axton Ray is something else; he was the next level. Easily, the best all round wrestler I’ve ever faced, that’s why he’s competed at a top level such as AEW Dark and various other promotions in the USA. However, last night, I showed Axton that I can compete at his level if not higher, that I can match him in the ring, that I can be unforgettable; I showed him why Outcast Pro Wrestling is All About Me!”
Hunter Nero has become the new Isle of Wight champion in a hard-fought 13-man contest, in which he threw previous holder Kane Michael aka ‘the Virus’ out of the ring.
Rudi Root overcame the arrogant and unpopular Bristol wrestler Hammerhead Smith much to the delight of the lively crowd at Fever.
In the final contest of the evening, JJ Volare pinned down his opponent Arron Warnes to retain his Outcast Pro Wrestling Heavyweight championship belt.
After the wrestling extravaganza, Matt Jackson, head of the Outcast Wrestling School, said:
“It was a very successful show from start to finish. I look forward to seeing everyone at our next show at Ventnor Winter Gardens on 23rd April.”
