Rose’s Toddler Group in Cowes teamed up with Action for Children and The World of Eric Carle™ to celebrate the 45th anniversary of The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ and the leading charity’s 145th year with a very wiggly conga.
Nearly 20 families, including several babies in prams, took part in the Giant Wiggle which saw them form up in a caterpillar conga line in Cowe’s Northwood Park, and raise more than £60 in aid of vulnerable children, young people and families across the UK
Rose, team leader at Rose’s Toddler Group said:
“We are thrilled to have raised funds for Action for Children by taking part in the Giant Wiggle.
“The children had such a fantastic time celebrating important anniversaries for one of our favourite books and Action for Children. The children decorated masks and a giant caterpillar; then all sat down to a Very Hungry Caterpillar picnic after the wiggle.
“A huge thank you to all staff, families and children involved for making the day such a success!”
More than 600 children’s centres and nurseries across the UK hosted Giant Wiggles. The challenge, organised by Action for Children and The Very Hungry Caterpillar™, was designed to encourage children to help others, and feed their imaginations through storytelling and creative activities.
