Part 2 of the local derby game between Sandown & Shanklin RFC and the Isle of Wight RFC took place on Saturday.
Conditions were less than ideal this weekend, as the Fairway had unfortunately taken a battering from the relentless rainfall in the past week. This in turn resulted in a game dictated by the slippery conditions, however, both sides performed remarkably well and showed off some great handling skills in spite of the weather.
The Hurricanes gained the derby day bragging rights with victory over Isle of Wight RFC by 15-9.
Tries from Mike Cooper, Zak Chiverton and Dan Robinson helped the hosts on their way to victory, to the 3 penalties scored by Isle of Wight RFC.
Sandown & Shanklin now turn their attention to 10th placed Overton RFC on Saturday 3rd February, in an attempt to extend their winning form and go 6 victories on the bounce.
