Cross-Solent operator Hovertravel is one of five companies that have been shortlisted for the ‘Best Ferry Operator of the Year’ category in this year’s National Transport Awards.
The annual awards, which are in their 14th year, recognise the successes that have been achieved on so many national and local transport projects. The government’s director for local transport and the chief executive for Passenger Focus were among the five judges that shortlisted Hovertravel for this award.
Whilst selecting the shortlisted, the judges were looking for tangible results that have been achieved within the ferry operators that have proven to benefit and enhance the experience of their customers.
Neil Chapman, Managing Director at Hovertravel said:
“I am absolutely delighted that Hovertravel’s continuous hard work as a team is being highlighted by these awards. The Best Ferry Operator of the Year category was introduced for the first time this year and for Hovertravel to be in the final is a major achievement in itself. The other finalists are all much larger companies, which highlights that although Hovertravel may have a smaller team, we all work remarkably together to achieve the best for the company and our customers. I know I can speak on behalf of the whole team when I say that we are all very proud to be recognised at the highest levels within the transport sector.”
The awards ceremony will take place at the Westminster Park Plaza on the 2nd October later this year. Transport providers including airlines, trains and bus companies will all be in attendance when the winners are revealed.
