Island Freemasons have raised over £2,500 by selling the 2014 Earl Mountbatten Hospice calendar and are looking to reach a fundraising milestone next year.
Alan White, Master of the East Medina Lodge 175, who sponsored the 2013 calendar in celebration of their 200th anniversary/bicentenary, represented all Masonic Lodges on the Island in handing over a cheque for £2,561.50 to the Hospice recently.
Alan was greeted by Liz Arnold (Director of Patient Services) and Lesley Evans (Macmillan Information & Support Centre Assistant Manager), and he also met Kate Mansbridge, who is the Diversional Therapist Co-ordinator, Penny Turner, Practice Development Nurse and staff nurse Jill Buck.
Since the Masonic Lodges started selling the Hospice calendars they have raised a total of £19,585.50. They are on board for sponsorship of the 2015 calendar, sales of which should see the Freemasons break through the £20,000 barrier.
Katie Radburn from the Hospice said:
“We would all like to say a big thank you to IW Freemasons for their continued long term support, which has already raised a phenomenal amount of money towards patient care.”
“We are all really excited about next year’s calendar, which can be found in many outlets across the Island and features images of iconic Island landscapes. We look forward to next year’s calendar and reaching that £20,000 milestone.”
