The Isle of Wight’s Kimberley Murray secured Gold following an impressive performance in Friday’s Intercontinental Cup skeleton race at Lake Placid, USA.
Kim, who comes from Binstead, went into yesterday’s race on a high after proving her ability in Igls, Austria by setting a new track record during this month’s World Cup event.
Swapping the World Cup for the ICC this week, the rising star arrived in the States and gave it her all to secure a winning time of 1:50.17 – equalled by the USA’s Katie Uhlaender.
This week’s win will certainly go in Kim’s favour as she works towards being selected to represent Great Britain at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
Speaking after the race, Kim said:
“I wanted to better my 5th place… I knew I had it in me, it just needed to come together. I am SO glad it did”.

Congratulations to Kimberley!! Good positive and successful news for a change
