Police are appealing for information after minor damage was caused to a property in Cowes after a firework was posted through the letterbox.
The incident occurred at around 04:30 on Thursday 29th August at an address in Maxted Close, Cowes causing some minor damage and burning to the carpet.
It comes after firefighters from Cowes Fire Station tackled a bin fire in nearby Seaview Road earlier in the night, where it is understood a number of domestic rubbish bags had been set alight.
PC Matt Tasker of Newport CID said:
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the vicinity at that time.
“Both incidents could have had far more serious consequences and it is fortunate that no one was injured.”
