A father-of-6 from the Isle of Wight has been given a 12-month conditional discharge after being put before the courts for scratching a Police officer’s finger.
Konrad Ciecierzynski, 35, of Beaper Shute near Brading, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday on 1 charge of common assault of an emergency worker.
Magistrates heard that Police had been called to a domestic incident at a residential address, which resulted in no further action being taken. During the incident, it was believed that Ciecierzynski had breached a restraining order which led to officers detaining him. However, the court was told this week that in fact no restraining order was in place against the defendant.
Liz Miller, prosecuting, explained how a drunken Konrad resisted detaining officers and was sprayed with PAVA spray. During the detainment, Ciecierzynski dug his fingers into the fingers of PC Champney resulting in a small scratch that drew blood. The Pole had previously been convicted of actual bodily harm and served a prison sentence in 2019.
Defending, Konrad’s solicitor said that his client accepts that he resisted but that he simply caught the finger of the officer – with Magistrates later commenting that the injury sustained was ‘very minor’. Ciecierzynski said he didn’t deliberately do it and would have handled the situation better if he wasn’t drunk.
A 12-month condition discharge was handed out with costs of £85.

What a lovely island name!
Yeah jus like urs bbz?
What a lovely xenophobic remark!
I got scratched once by my friend at school when I was in school when I was school age. I tried to tell off on him for scratching me but the teacher just said it was an accident and offered me a blue paper towell. I want to now take him to court and get him on a community order for the assault that happened on me in school. Unfortunately this will be laughed at so what’s the point. What a poof. If be scratched me and was smoking a spliff then he’d be in jail right now but unfortunately we was 6 so obviously he didn’t smoke weed.
I do hope that the pc is ok now, after such a trumatic event, give him a few months off to gather his thoughts, such a dangerous job being a copper on this beautiful island, I hope he is not scard for life,x
Probably will suffer ptsd and get a huge payout from us taxpayers
