Hovertravel, Europe’s only passenger hovercraft company, is offering additional services to Southsea on the morning of the Bupa Great South Run 2013.
The company is offering the extra crossings to Southsea on Sunday 27 October, departing from Ryde at 07:45 and 08:15 with a discounted fare for Island residents.
Thousands of runners will take part in the Bupa Great South Run this October, which is the world’s premier 10 mile running event and attracts hundreds of participants from the Isle of Wight every year.
Loretta Lale, Marketing Manager at Hovertravel said:
“Hovertravel has a long and proud tradition of supporting worthy causes both in Portsmouth and on the Isle of Wight. Adding extra services allows us to demonstrate that we support anyone who makes an effort to fundraise for charity.”
The Bupa Great South Run was first staged in Southampton in 1990, before moving to its current home in Portsmouth a year later. Known for its fast, flat course, the route includes a section through the Historic Naval Dockyard in Portsmouth.
