Wightlink-Wight Mountain CRT 14-year-old rider, Ewan Cook, competed in Round 10 of the Portsmouth evening circuits.
Ewan started strong and managed to break away from the bunch with 3 other riders. The small group stayed away until the end, and Ewan just missed out on his 1st win in the bunch sprint, having to settle for 2nd place.
Matt Allsopp travelled solo to Goodwood on Tuesday to compete in the E/1/2 race. Matt got into a couple of breaks but missed the one that got away.
Matt tried to bridge across for a couple of laps but ended up back in the main bunch. With 7 riders up the road, Matt was left to fight it out for one of the minor places. Taking poll position at the chicane, Matt was well positioned for the bunch sprint, but he got rolled halfway down the straight and had to settle for 9th place.
