Ecoisland are proud to announce a Partnership with PassivSystems Limited who are going to be providing the first roll-out of the Ecoisland Home HUB.
As part of an initial trial, 200 homes on the Isle of Wight will be provided with a small piece of electricity monitoring equipment free of charge that may help EcoIsland to identify how you can save energy and save some cash.
Participants in the trial will also get £100 worth of Marks & Spencer’s Vouchers for participating in the trial.
If you are heating your house with electricity and your hot water comes from an immersion heater then you would be perfect for the trial. All you have to do is contact the Ecoisland HUB on 01983 822385 or email [email protected] and you can enroll The trial lasts until March 2014 at which time there may be an option to buy the full controls system if you want to or just give it back.
Whilst the HUB’s used in this trial are ONLY gathering data to gain sight of the kind of energy usage in the home – the full version of the system is capable of “learning your energy use patterns” and providing you with an average of 23% savings off your energy bills. It is possible to get one of the full versions installed as part of measures under the ECO grants scheme and / or as part of a Greendeal package also available via the HUB www.eco-island.org/greendeal
The top of the range system is also able to learn the patterns of your behaviour, trim your energy use to suit your activities / give you control over your home when you are in awake / asleep / out and about and on holiday. It can even help to maximise the value of solar PV / solar thermal or air source heat pumps if they are installed. This is all part of Ecoisland’s drive to reduce energy demand on the Island and another step towards energy self sufficiency for 2020.
When asked about the availability of the new system David Green CEO had this to say: “We have been seeking the ideal Home Energy Management system for many years and believe we have found the best of breed in PassivSystems. Whilst the free trial is only going to be providing data (without the energy management function), there is the opportunity to give customers access to the benefits of the full system either as a purchase option or as part of a GREENdeal or ECO grant installation.
“We are delighted to be partnering with PassivSystems on this trial and we hope to roll out many more systems in the future.”
