policenightcordonOfficers from Hampshire Constabulary are keen to speak to a motorist who was involved in a collision with a 13-year-old girl on the outskirts of Newport a week ago.

The incident occurred near to the Racecourse in Whippingham in the early hours of last Monday, between 00:00 and 01:00, when a 13-year-old girl was hit as she crossed the road with a group of friends.

The driver of the unknown car stopped at the scene of the collision, before taking the girl to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police are now keen to trace and speak to the driver and any witnesses to the incident.

The motorist, witnesses or anyone with any information can contact Newport Police Station by phoning 101. The Mini-com number has changed to Minicom TextRelay 18001 101.
