Aspire Ryde will be holding their annual Dash and Splash 5km run along the length of Sandown Bay on Saturday 10th July.
Sandown Bay is the largest bay on the Island, which offers a unique run along the hard sand at high tide.
There are 43 groynes in total to negotiate, most of which are a straight run through large gaps. The remaining 14 will be splashed around, which at low tide will be mostly ankle-deep. 2 groynes could be waist-deep: these will have marshals in the water.
Dash and Splash is a fun run and not a race.
The run is planned for Saturday 10th July 2022 at 14:00. It starts at Shanklin Rowing Club and dashes along the beach – under Sandown pier – finishing opposite Yaverland Sailing Club.
