Construction work on the Island’s brand new KFC drive-thru in Lake is progressing well, with things on track for an opening later this year.
Work on the new 250 square metre restaurant is well underway with the main structure now erected on site at Merrie Farm Park off Newport Road.
Island Echo is told that customers can expect to order their first variety buckets on 1st December, although this date is subject to change.
It was over 2-and-a-half years ago that Island Echo exclusively revealed that plans were afoot to open a second KFC store on the Island. The news was eventually confirmed a year later in February 2017 before a planning application was submitted in June of that year.
KFC currently operate just 1 store on the Island at Furlongs, Newport. A second store in Union Street, Ryde closed back in December 2012.
