UPDATED: A multi-agency rescue operation is underway this afternoon (Monday) involving Coastguard Rescue 104 helicopter and Cowes RNLI lifeboat.
Emergency services were alerted to an incident on the Solent at around 13:25.
The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team, the Hampshire Constabulary Marine Unit and other local craft are all assisting in the operation, the specifics of which are currently unclear.
UPDATE @ 14:55 – Witnesses have described Police boarding and inspecting a yacht at Trinity Landing, Cowes.
