During the first ever Love Your Air Ambulance Month, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance will be asking members of the public to put on a hat for the day in exchange for a small donation.
Hats 4 HIOWAA Day will be on Friday 17th October and for this day the charity is appealing to local companies to join in with the challenge. The challenge is simple; wear a hat to work for the day to show support for the Air Ambulance and the life saving service it provides.
Just over £6 would keep the Air Ambulance flying for one minute, £383 would keep it flying for one hour and £4,600 would keep it flying for an entire day. The smallest donation could make a significant difference, bearing in mind that the Air Ambulance can reach anywhere within Hampshire in just 15 minutes, and the Isle of Wight within 20 minutes.
From a top hat to a trilby, getting involved requires minimum effort. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance would like participants to take a ‘selfie’ at work or school, wearing their chosen hat and upload it to the charity’s Facebook and Twitter pages along with a text donation. Simply text HATS1 to 70500 to make a one off donation of £1.
If local businesses are interested in getting involved with this campaign, there is an ‘Ambassador’ pack which is available to download on the charity’s website. This is filled with fundraising ideas to help organise and encourage their colleagues to raise funds for the Air Ambulance. A hard copy of the pack is also available and can be posted out to companies.
Anyone wanting further information is asked to get in touch with the charity press office on 02380 333377.
