Those living in Brading are being warned about the presence of dirty needles in the town after a 2-year-old boy picked one up in a memorial garden earlier today (Friday).
A local parent has said she is ‘furious’ at the situation after her son discovered a needle placed in a plant pot in the Mark Matthews Memorial Garden off the High Street, next to the main car park.
It was only a few weeks ago that Kacie Whiting took to social media to complain about discarded beer cans. Now she has had to express her disgust at the discovery of needles thought to be connected with the illegal consumption of drugs.
Luckily, it was very quickly noticed what the child had picked up and it was taken away immediately without harm.
Kacie is warning others in the Brading area to be aware of the presence of ‘junkie’s needles’, even in the nicest of areas.
She’s also said:
“To the junkie scumbags who think it’s okay to leave syringes in such places! I absolutely curse you!”

Selfish dirty b*****ds, they dont give a flying monkeys ass about anyone but themselves, I’m so glad that little one wasn’t harmed in this instance.
So agree with you….our council and courts are so out of touch with our island residents issues with drugs and alcohol problems….all they seem to do is spend time assisting the wrong doers to do more wrong doing….unless there is a major change nationally I fear for the island we once new as a safe haven…
The County Lines drug runners have found a very lucrative market here among impressionable youngsters. . . .
.
It’s just as bad in West Wight, where one can smell the pungent odour everywhere, even from people’s clothing in shops. I suppose if they’re injecting it, the results must be worse. . .
.
I came across a red mini one with four youngsters in Bembridge all smoking drugs and driving round to various car parks there, throwing rubbish out as they went.
[A while ago I would have considered reporting this, however have since found the Police are disinterested and would do nothing about it, so it’s pointless.]
.
We used to have ‘Community Support Officers’, I think they were called, who were actually in touch with the public. – What happened to them ??
People smoking weed isn’t the same as someone injecting smack
When all the massive building takes place in Ryde, thanks to our greedy council, imagine the huge amount of vile people coming to our Island. Many of the drugs and criminals here now are from those which OUR council encourage here for cash from ‘their own’ council, happy to be rid.
Your children’s lives will be far worse than the childhood you knew.
I wish they would ‘shoot up’ with caustic soda, then the pain caused over years by the gruelling struggle to be a good citizen, work damned hard, and pay, and pay, and pay taxes, would hit them in one minute!
Total wasters drinking and jacking up in such a lovely open space in Brading. If these filthy bast**ds have to do this, stay away from public places. Take your filthy drugs and drink yourself stupid IN YOUR HOME. Why are so many stupid people turning to drink and drugs? It will end badly and really doesn’t help your situation.
Welcome to the real world Islanders!
Its our fault that society has turned out like this. If the police could actually do their job without the public having to know everything and then criticise everything they do then crime would take a nose dive…… let’s own up to our responsibility here and support the police and let them do their job!
