The Met office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ warning for further weather disruption as more thunderstorms could lead to torrential downpours of rain later today (Friday).
Further rain is expected between 13:00 and 17:00 after the Island experienced around 13mm of rain in 6 hours when thunder and lightening struck the Island’s coast at around 04:30.
Isolated thunderstorms today may lead to some local torrential downpours. The public should be aware of the risk of some disruption to transport through standing water.
There is a risk of an isolated thunderstorm developing today. Where this happens, there is the potential for some very heavy rain, but most places should miss these.
