Led by the new Director of Rugby, Neil Evans, over 20 Ventnor RFC players, management and supporters travelled to the Midlands on the weekend of 10th May to play in a charity rugby event for The Nags Charity Barbarians. The Nags are a charity rugby team that has been playing biannually for 10 years raising much-needed funds for Cancer Research UK. To date, they have managed to raise over £210,000. This was the first time that Ventnor RFC had been represented at such an event – and not only on the playing front, with Zoe Jones expertly leading the physio team and Clive Cardwell-Hill coaching one of the competing teams. All the players played with fantastic commitment and proudly promoted the playing standard at the club. It is hoped that a lifelong friendship has been built between Ventnor RFC and The Nags in their pursuit of ‘Rugby to Tackle Cancer. The event at Tewkesbury RFC managed to raise over £30,000 pushing them ever close to the quarter-of-a-million milestone.

A fine body of men, most welcomed at Tewksbury. Looking forward to future events together.
