Organisers of the annual Classic Car Spectacular, which is held in Newport and Ryde each September, have confirmed that the event has been cancelled for 2020.
The continuing coronavirus pandemic, which puts the health of those involved at risk, has led to the tough decision by Vic Gallucci.
Social distancing remains a key part of everyday life and would have meant that the show would’ve had to be reduced in size if it was to go ahead. Instead, the decision has been taken to take a year out and return as normal for the 19th event in 2021.
The free event, which normally attracts around 700 vehicles of all shapes and sizes, raises much-needed funds for the Island’s very own Mountbatten Hospice and the IW Round Table.
The Isle of Wight Classic Car Extravanganza will return on 11th/12th September 2021.
