Residents from Orchard House Care Home have enjoyed a visit to the annual Jigsaw Festival at St James’ Church, East Cowes, continuing what has become a much-loved tradition for the home.
The outing held particular significance for 99-year-old resident Margaret, who has a long-standing connection with St James’ Church and has been an active member of its community.
Each year, Orchard House supports Margaret in returning to the festival, where she is greeted by familiar faces from the church.
Residents spent time looking at the jigsaw displays, exploring the church and enjoying the community event, with volunteers providing a warm welcome to the group.
Katie Schlepp, Head of Lifestyle at Orchard House Care Home, has said:
“Our annual visit to the Jigsaw Festival has become a very special tradition for us. Margaret’s connection with St James’ Church makes the occasion particularly meaningful, and it is wonderful to see how delighted everyone is to welcome her back each year.
“The volunteers are always incredibly kind and welcoming, and our residents had a lovely time.”

During the visit, one resident also left a message reflecting on the theme of the festival:
‘Pray for the jigsaw of life, so that all pieces are present and they all fit, and the world will bring us together!’
