The gymnasts were the 1st from the Island to win medals and ribbons for 16 years.
9 gymnasts from Legacy Elite Squad recently travelled across the water to Portsmouth for a pre-grading competition, returning to the Isle of Wight with no less than 24 medals and ribbons – the first Island gymnasts to secure success in 16 years.
The pre-grades is an important practice competition before the National Development Programme (NDP) competition, taking place in April this year.
For some of the gymnasts, this was their first-ever competition and for others, it was only their second. Even so, the squad managed to bring a total of 24 medals and ribbons back to the Island.
3 of the gymnasts were also awarded sportsmanship rosettes for bravery, courage and leadership in honour of remembering Sian Reeds, who recently lost her battle to cancer at a very young age.

Lucy Collins: Regional Grade 2 – 1st place overall, Vault – 1st, Bars – 1st, Beam – 1st, Floor – 2nd, R&C – 1st
Indie Orchard: Club Grade 6 – 5th place overall, Vault – 8th, Bars – 3rd, Beam – 13th, Floor 14th, R&C – 3rd
Jessica Taylor: Club Grade 5 – 5th place overall, Vault – 2nd, Bars – 5th, Beam – 3rd, Floor 4th, R&C – 6th
Indiana Simpkins: Club Grade 5 – 6th place overall, Vault- 6th, Bars – 6th, Beam – 6th, Floor 9th, R&C – 9th
Isabelle Berners: Club Grade 5 – 9th place overall, Vault – 10th, Bars – 7th, Beam – 9th, Floor – 11th, R&C -7th
Skye Couse: Regional Grade 4 – 5th place overall, Vault – 6th, Bars – 4th, Beam – 3rd, Floor – 9th R&C – 8th
Beaudi McDonald: Regional Grade 4 – 6th place overall, Vault – 2nd, Bars – 7th, Beam – 7th, Floor – 6th, R&C – 6th
