policetapeA 42-year-old man has suffered cuts and grazes after he was attacked and robbed in Sandown on Friday.

Police are today appealing for witnesses to come forward after the victim was pushed to the floor and had his rucksack forcibly removed from his back on Friday afternoon (23rd August) near to the junction of St Johns Crescent and Fort Mews on Avenue Road.

The rucksack contained:
1 x Black Sony Xperia Tipo Mobile phone
1 x Black iPad 16gb
1 x Black iPod touch 32gb
1 x Black ‘Animal’ leather wallet containing cash as well as debit cards and a driving licence.
1 x Grey ‘Everlast’ hoody which has a zip half way the way up the front

The suspect ran off with the bag.

The suspect is described as male, white, aged about 21 years, 5ft 10″ to 5ft 11″ tall, fat, shortish brown hair, side burns and stubble. He was wearing a short sleeved light blue t-shirt and shorts.

There was also a second man present during the incident. He was described as a white man, about 5ft 6” tall.
