4 VICTORIES FOR SHANKLIN SANDOWN ROWING CLUB IN SWANAGE

The Junior Ladies’ pair of Kayleigh Batchelor and Yasmin Wright secured a 3rd consecutive win with a comfortable victory over their closest rivals, with Batchelor also taking the top spot in the Ladies’ senior sculls race, again by a comfortable margin.

Emily Faithfull finished 2nd in the Ladies’ Junior sculls, whilst Yasmin Wright also took the runners up spot in the Ladies’ Novice sculls.

The Girl’s J16 quad of Alannah Denness, Layla Katirewa, Beth Katirewa, Esme Walters, and Emily Faithfull (cox) continued their fine form to take their 3rd successive victory, running out winners by 3 lengths. The Boy’s J16 quad of Arlo Adds, Fred Giemza-Pipe, Carter Horrix, Louis Sheasby, and Jane Denby-Roach (cox) kept up their unbeaten record for the season, winning by a similar margin.

The club were able to boat 2 novice Ladies crews, who worked hard to secure places in the final with both crews finishing outside the podium spots. The men’s Junior 4, competing at this level for the 1st time, finished 4th in their heat, just missing out on a place in the final.
