Do you like the sound of live music? Well, there are 3 great opportunities to see several great bands across the island in Newport, Sandown and Havenstreet.

Newport Carnival presents Marching Bands in the Square
St Thomas’ Square, Newport | Saturday 17th July 2021 | Late morning/early afternoon
The team behind Newport Carnival are pleased to announce a great Saturday out in Newport’s St Thomas’ Square by Newport Minster on the 17th July 2021.
It will be Market Day from 09:00 until 16:30 – Great to come and support our local traders.
Bands will leave County Hall Car Park at quarter to the hour and will march up Quay Street past the courts across the High Street into St Thomas’ Square where they will play for approximately 35-40 minutes.
Bands will then disperse back to County Hall before the next band plays.
🥁 From 10:45 – Medina Marching Band (be in the square by 11:00)
🥁 From 11:45 – Special guests Scots Guards Association Pipes and Drums (be in the square by 12:00)
🥁 From 12:45 – Vectis Corps of Drums Marching Band (be in the square by 13:00)
There will be a number of donation buckets and collection tins on traders’ stalls throughout the day, any loose change you may have is always welcome, how little it might be. However, do not feel pressured to donate, this is a FREE event to bring some joy to the town.
Newport Carnival brings you Marching Bands in the Square with the support from Newport & Carisbrooke Community Council and Market Days Isle of Wight.

Sandown Carnival presents Bagpipes at Brown’s
Browns Golf Course, Yaverland Road, Sandown (next to Dinosaur Isle) | Saturday 17th July 2021 | Later afternoon/evening
Sandown Carnival has teamed up with Browns Golf and Blue Tiki Cafe in Sandown to host 2 amazing bagpipe groups this Saturday at Brown’s!
🥁 From 17:00 – The Scots Guards Association.
🥁 From 18:15 – Wight Hot Pipes
Bring a rug or a camp chair, set up an area for you & your group and enjoy! A variety of refreshments will be available from the Blue Tiki Cafe.
A bucket collection will be made on the night to raise funds for future Sandown Carnival events.

The Island Highland Gathering at Havenstreet Steam Railway
Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Havenstreet | Sunday 18th July 2021 | Later afternoon/evening
Aspire Ryde are excited to announce that the Island Highland Gathering will be back again on Sunday 18th of July 2021.
This year they will be holding the event at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Fun and excitement for all of the family.
They have pipe and drum bands from all over the country, including Reading, Dartford, Portsmouth, Hampshire and for this year they will be having The Scots Guards Association joining them.
All will be going on throughout the day in the main arena which also has the main stage.
Money raised on the day will go to Aspire Ryde.
