Police have seized yet another vehicle for having no tax or a valid MOT certificate, but it’s not the first time that the car has been taken off the Island’s roads.
Officers pulled over the Vauxhall Mervia in Calbourne earlier on this morning (Wednesday) and conducted a number of roadside checks.
It was discovered that the car’s tax expired on 1st March this year, with the MOT having expired in July.
Local Police have confirmed that this is not the first time that the vehicle has been seized. It has been recovery by Stag Lane Motors.

Sooooo… what is the point in stopping the vehicle, checking that it is illegal, SEIZING it, had it taken away, then either sold on or given back to the owner to drive again on the road????? SURELY the driver is also commiting an offence by driving it AND his/her insurance is voided.. Seizing it should mean more than just paying for it to be stored…It should surely be crushed or sold for scrap.. but these days nothing suprises me.
Crush it
To make sure this again just crush the car sorted!
I see Gary Fry has a new car…
Like idle threats to a child, UNLESS you back it up, then YOU look and are the ‘stupid’ one, not carrying out your threat, as they know, for the rest of time, to ignore such.
That is what society does with such threats as ‘we will crush you car’. We all know they won’t. As all anyone has to do is say ‘ I have a spacky child, crippled parent, or some other ‘hard luck’ tale, to the gullible authorities, who will not ‘risk’ doing anything, ‘in case’ it’s true and they get bad publicity, so NOTHING happens.
Some people never learn…
Save us tax payers money and just scrap it simple
Presumably the offender will be invited to court?
Wouldn’t of thought so…. prob give him 60 pound fine and a mars bar then a lift home!!!!
