The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is supporting businesses to access free expert and specialist advice as part of the Government’s national business readiness programme ahead of Brexit in just 37 days’ time, although no events will be held by the LEP on the Isle of Wight.
A series of workshops ‘across the region’ are available for businesses to attend, to prepare for Brexit and beyond.
Joining with 3 other LEPs in the South of England, (Enterprise M3, Coast to Capital and Thames Valley Berkshire), the 4 LEPs are working together collectively with Government to provide reassurance to businesses and to help them make important preparations as the UK leaves the EU.
Gary Jeffries, Chairman of Solent LEP said:
“We are delighted to be working with our neighbouring LEPs to pull together a package of support for businesses in the Solent. This sits alongside our recent relaunch of the Solent Prosperity Fund, and the support fund route for small and medium sized businesses (SME) aimed at supporting businesses through changing trading conditions arising from BREXIT.”
The LEP’s Growth Hubs, which focus on business support all year round, will spearhead the activities, including encouraging as many businesses as possible to attend one of the Government workshops in the region. The 3 workshops currently planned in the Solent LEP region are: Portsmouth on 1st October, Southampton on 11th October and New Forest on 18th October. The Solent LEP is working with partners with a view to securing further sessions in the Solent area and updates on this will be provided when available.
The Department for International Trade (DIT) Get Ready for Brexit workshops are free and will include vital Brexit content from DIT, the services DIT offers to businesses and the wider context in which these can be utilised, relatable case studies and a panel of Government specialists from across departments. There will also be subject matter experts, offer businesses the opportunity to network and also have a 121 meeting with the International Trade Administration (ITA) and the local Growth Hub.
You can register for any of the Get Ready for Brexit workshops in the Solent area by clicking on the locations below.
